THE GODDESS WITHIN (2011)
Goddesses have been with us since the beginning of time, and they remain today. From the start of creation, they have acquired a hundred names and faces and their presence is cross cultural.
This Series comprises a year and a half body of work photographing women I have made a connection with. While my initial intention was to invoke and capture each women’s personal spiritual deity, I soon recognized 'the process itself' as being the most important focus. Using compassion and affirmation as my guide, I set out to assist each individual recognize their own inner Goddess through the assistance of my lens. Photographs could be spontaneous, documentary events, while others were creative notions floating around in my subconscious for quite some time suddenly demanding creative catharsis.
This project serves as a reminder it is truly the journey and connections shared, rather then the destination I hold in the highest of regards.
